Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, has expressed a renewed commitment to strengthening the China-Cambodia relationship as he begins a two-day state visit to Cambodia. This visit marks the conclusion of his three-country Southeast Asia tour, which started on April 14.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, President Xi’s message, released by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlights the historical and cultural ties that have bonded the two nations over centuries. Xi recalls the shared history of trade and cultural exchange that dates back two millennia, emphasizing that the relationship is deeply rooted in a legacy of good-neighborly relations.
The message details the mutual commitment to friendship and righteousness, underpinned by the historical bond between past leaders such as His Majesty Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk and Chairman Mao Zedong.
