White-Shouldered Ibis and Lesser Adjutant Fledglings Found in Sambo Wildlife Sanctuary

Sambo: Biodiversity Research and Monitoring team of WWF-Cambodia, together with community members from seven villages in Kratie province, have found White-shouldered ibis and lesser adjutant fledglings in Sambo wildlife sanctuary.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discoveries were made during their search for nesting locations of key bird species last week. The four-day expedition had exciting discoveries, including 12 white-shouldered ibis nests, 5 lesser adjutant nests, and 1 red-headed vulture nest, it pointed out.

‘Our team even spotted eight white-shouldered ibis fledglings and five lesser adjutant fledglings flying from their nests,’ WWF-Cambodia added. The sighting highlights the importance of local engagement in conservation, as we collect essential data for understanding how to best protect vulnerable bird species, underlined the source.
