Vietnam treasures cooperation in conflict prevention, sustainable peace building

Vietnam always attaches importance to preventing and settling challenges threatening peace early and from afar, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), said at an open debate held by the UN Security Council (UNSC) on August 21. The debate on ‘A New Agenda for Peace – Addressing Global, Regional and National Aspects of Conflict Prevention’ under the ‘Peacebuilding and sustaining peace’ agenda item was chaired by Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Timothy Musa Kabba. It is one of the signature events of Sierra Leone’s August Council presidency, attracting the participation of representatives of over 73 countries and relevant international organisation.
