Phnom Penh: H.E. Gen. Ronald P. Clark, Commander of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), is visiting Cambodia for an official trip on February 24-25, aiming to enhance military relations between the two countries.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during his visit, H.E. Gen. Ronald Clark will hold separate courtesy meetings with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet; H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence; and H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
H.E. Gen. Ronald Clark is also scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with H.E. Gen. Mao Sophan, Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army. The meeting will focus on discussions to strengthen and expand military cooperation, as well as to build mutual trust and confidence in the defence sector between the two countries, the source added.
This visit by H.E. Gen. Ronald Clark marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Cambodia and the U.S. It is the second visit to Cambodia by a USARPAC commander, with the first visit conducted by H.E. Gen. Vincent Brooks in 2014.
