UiTM Creative Arts College Signs MoU With Four Industry Players


KUALA LUMPUR, Universiti Teknologi MARA’s (UITM) Creative Arts College signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four industry players last Friday in an effort to boost the creative arts sector’s momentum.

UiTM said that the four parties are Cloudtheatre Sdn Bhd (Cloudjoi), Creative Stew Sdn Bhd, Dear Creative Media Sdn Bhd and GMBB.

‘Strategic partners at the local industry level play vital roles in opening up opportunities to students through research and student employability.

‘The (UiTM) vice-chancellor’s intentions are that students can have values that are ‘Globally Renowned, Locally Rooted’ as their core to spur the momentum of more proactive partnerships and collaborations with the local industry,’ the university said in a statement recently.

UiTM Creative Arts College’s Academics and International Dean Assoc Prof Dr Rusmadiah Anwar, who is carrying out the duties of the vice-chancellor, Industry Network, Community and Alumni Dean Assoc Prof Dr Wan Aida Wan Yahaya and Research and Innovatio
n Dean Assoc Prof Dr Sharifah Faizah Syed Mohamed were present during the signing of the MoU on Friday.

Rusmadiah said that the symbiotic relationship with the industry is important to ensure placements for quality industrial training so that students can obtain necessary acadameic requirements, adding that it was critical as several academic programmes were work-based-learning, including the ‘2u1i’ (two years in university, one year in industry), located at the college’s strategic partner’s location.

‘Besides student academic excellence, such collaborations can provide opportunities for students to se etheir potential in business management and entrepreneurship.

‘May this strategic partnership be a postive added value to our institution and our industry partners and drive UiTM towards global excellence,’ he added.
