Phnom Penh: Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Saltzman, the U.S. Military Attach© to Cambodia, along with his team, paid a courtesy visit to General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), to convey New Year greetings.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Lieutenant Colonel Saltzman extended well wishes to H.E. General Vong Pisen and his family for a prosperous and fortunate Khmer New Year. He also expressed gratitude to the RCAF commander-in-chief for his support of the U.S. military attach©’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. He highlighted that recent visits by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Commander and the U.S. Army Pacific Commander demonstrated the positive trajectory of this cooperation.
In response, H.E. General Vong Pisen expressed his appreciation for the New Year greetings. He acknowledged the improved cooperation between Cambodia and the U.S., particularly following the two visits by former U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, as well as visits by other high-ranking U.S. military officials and U.S. naval port calls.
H.E. General Vong Pisen expressed his hope for continued collaboration in 2026, including joint military exercises, information sharing to combat transnational crime and terrorism, and the ongoing mission to recover the remains of missing American personnel in Cambodia.
