Two teenagers surrender after stabbing a 17-year-old rival in the middle of an intersection in Soi Pibulsongkram 22, Nonthaburi Province, resulting in his death.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed under the breast and was seriously injured and later died. The incident occurred at Soi Phibunsongkhram 22, Intersection 24, Tambon Bangkhen, Amphoe Mueang, Nonthaburi Province on the evening of August 30. The surveillance camera captured the incident. The deceased was wearing a gray T-shirt and riding a blue motorcycle with his friend sitting on the back. Next to him was a black motorcycle belonging to two perpetrators, both wearing black T-shirts, riding side by side. After that, the deceased honked his horn and the deceased jumped off the motorcycle and ran towards the perpetrators. There was a fight between two people on one. The friend who was riding pillion with the deceased took the motorcycle and rode away.

The two perpetrators then chased the deceased until they reached a three-way intersection and stabbed hi
m under the breastbone, causing him to fall and lie in the middle of the road. The incident lasted almost two minutes before the perpetrators went their separate ways and rode their motorcycles together to escape.

After the incident, Nonthaburi police questioned the family and learned that the deceased was Mr. Phirawit, aged 17, a building technician at an international school in Nonthaburi Province. While in the hospital before his death, the family talked about the incident. The deceased insisted that he had never had any problems with anyone before and had no rivals. Before he died, he said, ‘A person like me would have problems with anyone. I would never do anything to cause trouble for my grandmother.’

Last evening, the parents of the perpetrators brought Mr. Athit, 18, the rider who stabbed the white-shirted man, and Mr. Supharut, 15, the pillion, to surrender and seized evidence, a pocket knife. Both men confessed to the crime. Officers took them to a detention room to await their transfer to Nonthab
uri Provincial Court the next day. Before entering the detention room, relatives cried, expressed grief, and hugged the perpetrators. Mr. Supharut, 15, will be taken to the juvenile court because he is under 18. Initially, the police charged him with jointly causing physical harm to another person resulting in death.

At Wat Matchantikaram, Wong Sawang Road, Bang Sue District, there was a water pouring ceremony for the deceased, Mr. Phirawit. The atmosphere was filled with sadness. Many friends came to the ceremony. The family will hold a 2-night chanting ceremony from August 31 to August 1, 2024, and the cremation will be on August 2, 2024.

The reporter met the deceased’s friend who said that yesterday he met the deceased’s friend who rode his motorcycle and said that there was a problem. The perpetrator had a fight with his friend. When he followed him to the scene of the incident, he found his friend lying in the middle of the road and was being given CPR. He did not know the perpetrators and had never ha
d any problems.

The grandmother of the deceased, aged 70, said that after work her grandson would always go stay with his friends. However, his grandson never caused trouble for anyone. He liked to go play football with his friends. When he came back, he would sleep early and wake up to go to work. His grandson was someone who loved his friends very much. He would give in to his friends and not to those who did it to him first. When she heard the news, she rushed to see her grandson at the hospital. She did not think that his grandson would be so bad. He asked for forgiveness, apologized to everyone, and said that he was going to go. She accepted it and forgave her grandson
