Two Japanese Naval Vessels to Dock at Sihanoukville Port This Week


Two vessels of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) will dock at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port for a three-day visit in Cambodia’s coastal provincial city.

Their stop at the port of Preah Sihanouk province was scheduled for Feb. 22-24, bringing along 435 crewmembers in total.

The forthcoming visit aims to further strengthen bilateral military cooperation between Cambodia and Japan through various technical and cultural exchange programmes.

Friendly sports competitions between the two countries’ naval officials have also been planned during the visit.

The two vessels are the DDG-172, TV-3521 SHIMAKAZE of 150 metres long, 16.4 metres wide and 4.8 metres deep, and the DD-114 SUZUNAMI of 151 metres long, 17.4 metres wide and 5.3 metres deep.
