Sihanoukville: Two international cruise ships carrying over 2,000 tourists of various nationalities docked at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port this morning for a day-long visit to Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, immigration police officers at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port reported that the two cruise ships arrived in the morning and were welcomed with Khmer traditional Chai Yam performance.
The first cruise ship, NOORDAM, sailing under the Netherlands flag, carried 1,909 international tourists from 42 different countries, including 983 women, along with a crew of 785 members from 39 nationalities, including 139 women. The majority of the tourists on board were from the United States, totaling 925 passengers.
NOORDAM departed from Thailand and arrived at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port at 7:30 AM. It is scheduled to leave for Vietnam at 9:00 PM on the same day. During their visit, 40 tourists, including 23 women from six nationalities, travelled from Sihanoukville to explore Angkor in Siem Reap province.
The second cruise ship, ZHAO SHANG YIDUN, sailing under the Chinese flag, carried 263 international tourists of 21 different nationalities, including 143 women, and was staffed by a crew of 350 members from one nationality, including 99 women.
The majority of the passengers were from Japan, totaling 166 tourists.
ZHAO SHANG YIDUN also departed from Thailand, arriving at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port at 8:50 AM and is scheduled to depart for Vietnam tonight.
