Phnom Penh: Turkish Airlines will commence regular flights from Istanbul, the largest city in Trkiye, to Phnom Penh on Dec. 10, 2025, the airline said in a press release issued on Mar. 3.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, with this new destination, Cambodia will become the 7th country served by the airline in Southeast Asia and Phnom Penh will be the 11th city in the region. The new route is expected to improve trade relations between Trkiye and Cambodia and contribute to the growing economy of Phnom Penh, expanding Turkish Airlines’ Far East network to 20 cities and 21 airports.
The airline noted that this new route will provide easier access to one of the key destinations in the region and emphasize the unparalleled connectivity Turkish Airlines offers as the only European carrier flying to this destination. The flights will be operated via Bangkok, Thailand, three times a week. Departures from Istanbul to Phnom Penh are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights from Phnom Penh to Istanbul will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, stated that expanding the airline’s networks in Asia and strengthening connections with strategic destinations remains a priority. He highlighted that the launch of Phnom Penh flights marks a significant step in this direction, creating new opportunities for both tourism and business.
H.E. Ms. Å“lk Kocaefe, Ambassador of the Republic of Trkiye to Cambodia, previously mentioned that the direct flight would significantly reduce travel time and enhance accessibility for both business and leisure travelers. It is also expected to facilitate trade and investment between the two countries, promoting economic cooperation.
