Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing Plans to Open Toyota Academy in Cambodia

Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. is planning to open a Toyota Academy in Cambodia.

The plan was revealed by Mr. Fujitsu Ryojo, Managing Director of Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., in a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, at the Peace Palace here this afternoon.

Mr. Fujitsu Ryojo briefed Samdech Thipadei on the progress of Toyota car assembly plant in Cambodia after the official inauguration under the high presidency of the Cambodian Premier on May 2, 2024, and sought his recommendations regarding the establishment of Toyota Academy in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his support for the company’s initiative to create a Toyota Academy in Cambodia, and encouraged the company to work closely with Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and discuss in detail the school organisation and business modeling setting.

The Prime Minister recommended the company to establish the academy by itself or in a hybrid form by colla
borating with an existing government training school.

Samdech Thipadei also encouraged the company to examine the possibility of expanding the scope of training to respond to the needs of the automotive job market, both domestic and foreign, not just to Toyota’s human resource needs.

Besides, he asked the Toyota Group to consider examining the feasibility on the production of Toyota spare parts for the supply of Toyota not only in Cambodia, but also in other countries; and on the cooperation with local companies that can supply accessories for Toyota.
