Tourism Minister, Japanese Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Tourism Cooperation


Phnom Penh: Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak received here on Jan. 13 H.E. Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, and his delegation to discuss tourism cooperation between the two countries.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing the promotion of tourism potential between Cambodia and Japan through participation in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. They also explored boosting collaboration to establish direct flights between Cambodia and Japan, organizing Familiarisation Trips for the private tourism sectors of both countries, and producing joint promotional tourism videos to increase the visibility of tourism opportunities in both nations.



These efforts aim to further expand the sale of travel packages between the two countries. H.E. Ueno Atsushi is committed to continuing to promote Cambodia’s social stability, security, and positive developments to Japanese citizens, tourists, and business communities.



Cambodia welcomed 100,022 Japanese tourists in the first 11 months of 2024, up 32.2 percent from 75,685 during the same period in the previous year, according to a ministry’s report.
