KAMPOT: Three main activities have been planned to ensure the 11th Sea Festival in Kampot province is filled with joy, excitement, and grandeur, according to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Tourism.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the festival will feature Live Performances of Artistic Shows and Concerts, with national and international artists and renowned Cambodian singers, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display. Additionally, there will be a Food and Beverage Festival showcasing local products, tourism development projects from coastal provinces, agri-tourism, and locally-made products. Water and Beach Sports Activities will also be part of the festival, featuring participation from national and international athletes.
The 11th Sea Festival, to be held from December 13 to 15, will take place under the high presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony. The event, themed “Celebrating Heritage and Sustainability of Coastal Area
s,” aims to enhance the value of local products and promote Cambodia’s coastal areas’ tourism potential, focusing on heritage and eco-tourism.
The annual festival is organised by the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Ministry of Commerce, the Kampot Provincial Administration, the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, the Kampot Chamber of Commerce, and various relevant ministries, institutions, and private sector partners.
Cambodia has hosted the Sea Festival annually since 2011, rotating among the country’s four coastal provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong, and Kampot. The festival aims to promote tourism in these coastal areas and encourage the private sector, general public, and other stakeholders to protect and preserve marine resources and the beach environment.
Cambodia’s coastline, which extends approximately 450 kilometres across the four provinces, became a member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (World-Bays Club) in mid-2011.
