Third Ring Road to be Officially Put into Use Next Week

Phnom Penh’s US$273-million-worth third ring road will be officially inaugurated on Aug. 3, said this morning in a voice message caretaker Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen who is going to preside over the event.

According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the third ring road of 53 kilometres long and 22 metres wide links National Road (NR) 4 in Sangkat Chom Chao 3, Khan Pursenchey, Phnom Penh, to NR1 in Dei Ith commune, Kean Svay district of Kandal province by crossing NR3, NR2 and NR21.

The third ring road will contribute significantly to further easing cross-border transport, promoting international trade and turning the surrounding areas into a development zone.

Besides the ring road, the construction project includes four flyovers and eight bridges.
