Phnom Penh: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk left here this morning for their routine medical checkup in China. The monarchs were seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Cambodian top leaders, including National Assembly President Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary; Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his spouse; Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, and many other high-ranking officials as well as royal family members.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin was also present on the occasion. A recent royal message stated that during His Majesty the King’s absence, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, will act as the Acting Head of State.

Their Majesties the King and Queen-
Mother regularly undergo their medical checkup in Beijing. During their stay in China, they always receive warm hospitality from Chinese leaders and medical doctors. Their last medical visit to China was from Aug. 26 to Sept. 23, 2024.
