Phnom Penh: Thai Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra will pay a visit to Cambodia to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodia-Thailand diplomatic relations. The planned visit was discussed when H.E. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed H.E. Tull Traisorat’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia and highlighted some major achievements along with the good cooperation between the two kingdoms. The Acting Head of State mentioned the organisation of activities to commemorate the diplomatic ties, such as a friendly football match held in Phnom Penh on March 8, which showcased the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the neighboring countries.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also noted the increase in two-way trade, which rose to over US$10 billion in 2024, compared to approximately US$8 billion the previous year. H.E. Tull Traisorat expressed his commitment to further expand cooperation between the nations and pledged to attract more Thai investors to Cambodia.
Cambodia and Thailand established their diplomatic relations on December 19, 1950. The countries elevated their bilateral ties to the level of Strategic Partnership in February 2024 during the official visit of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to Thailand.
