Technology can help improve quality of teachers, students: Ministry

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology affirmed that the use of information and communication technology (ICT) can help improve the quality of teachers and students.The ministry's Secretary General, Suharti, remarked that by using technology, teachers can explore their potential at a deeper level to improve the quality of innovative and creative learning for students. "By utilizing technology, teachers are expected to share innovations with other (teachers) in addition to applying it in their own teaching," she remarked during a public lecture broadcast online here on Monday. Suharti explained that one of the ministry's efforts to improve teacher competence in utilizing ICT is the Information and Communication Technology-Based Learning Program (PembaTIK). This program targets teachers in the hopes that they will be able to create teaching materials that are correlated to the Merdeka Curriculum. fter the COVID-19 pandemic, Suharti said, most people are accustomed to using digital platforms, so applying technology in the teaching and learning processes must also be enhanced in order to realize equal distribution of education in Indonesia.
