Svay Rieng Hosts a Boat Race to Identify the Fastest


Svay Rieng: The Cambodian Canoe and Rowing Federation (CCRF) is hosting a boat race from Mar. 24 to 25 in Svay Rieng province to select the best performers.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Kong Sopheap, CCRF Deputy Secretary-General, stated that the competition aims to choose the top national athletes for international, ASEAN, and Asian sports events in 2025, with a particular focus on the upcoming SEA Games in Thailand.



The boat race is set at the Vaikor River and has drawn 63 athletes from the Ministry of Interior, the Naval Command, and the provinces of Kampong Thom and Svay Rieng. The event includes categories such as canoeing, kayaking, and boat rowing, as mentioned by Mr. Kong Sopheap.



Participants, aged between 15 to 30 years old, are required to undergo a 2,000-metre run, chin-up exercises, and boat tests for the 200-metre canoe, 200-metre kayak, and 500-metre boat race. Additionally, general health and drug tests are part of the selection process.
