H.E. Pen Bona, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson of the Royal Government, has underscored six main achievements of the 7th-mandate Royal Government of Cambodian after one year of office.

During a press conference on the one-year achievement of the 7th-mandate Royal Government held here at the Office of the Council of Ministers this morning, H.E. Pen Bona said the Royal Government succeeded in maintaining peace and political stability, defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and kickstarting the construction of Funan Techo Canal, Cambodia’s historical waterway transport project linking the Mekong system to the sea route.

Another significant achievement is the launch of the six-point priority policy programme – expanding healthcare services towards achieving the universal health coverage; providing vocational and technical trainings for youth from poor and vulnerable households across the nation; institutionalising the national social assistance programme for
poor households, vulnerable people from poor households, and at-risk households during economic crises and emergencies; formulating and accelerating the implementation of the Informal Economy Development Strategy to enable them to participate in the formal economy, and to grasp the benefits from formal social protection system; introducing coordinating mechanism and financing programme that enhance agricultural products’ production, market access, and price stability at a reasonable level; and deploying agricultural technical officers to all communes and Sangkats that have agricultural activities across the nation and forming farmers associations in rural areas.

The five measures taken by the Royal Government, including public administration reform, education reform, health reform, enhancement of Village-Commune Safety policy, and judicial reform; as well as close contacts with the people are the other two major achievements.
