Phnom Penh: Honourable Dev Raj Ghimire, Speaker of Nepal’s House of Representatives, has expressed his appreciation for the robust friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Nepal. The commendation was made during a courtesy meeting with Samdech Rathsaphea Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Saturday.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed her deep gratitude to Speaker Ghimire for leading Nepal’s delegation to significant meetings, including the IPTP and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) held in Phnom Penh. She acknowledged the consistent presence of Nepal at important legislative and executive events organized by Cambodia, which she noted demonstrates Nepal’s commitment to peace and the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
Honourable Dev Raj Ghimire highlighted the shared cultural and tourism potential between the two countries, noting the significant number
of Cambodians visiting Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha. He also commended the rapid development in Cambodia under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister. Additionally, he expressed his wishes for the Cambodian Parliament’s success in organizing the IPTP Plenary Session for the common benefit of the world.
Samdech Khuon Sudary further emphasized that Nepal’s participation in the IPTP and ICAPP meetings exemplified mutual support in regional and international fora, which brings significant honor to Cambodia on the global stage. Both speakers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening parliamentary relations through both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, stressing the importance of closer people-to-people ties to advance cooperation in areas such as trade and tourism for the shared growth and development of their respective nations.
