Phnom Penh: The Spanish Ambassador to Cambodia has put forward a proposal to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to organize a business forum aimed at addressing investment challenges and attracting more Spanish investors to the country. This proposal was made during a meeting between H.E. Felipe De La Morena Casado and H.E. Sun Chanthol, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and CDC First Vice President, in Phnom Penh on November 19.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Ambassador De La Morena Casado highlighted several issues faced by Spanish investors in Cambodia, suggesting that a business forum could be instrumental in overcoming these investment hurdles. The ambassador underscored the importance of such a forum in streamlining investment processes and enhancing bilateral business relations.
H.E. Sun Chanthol expressed strong support for the ambassador’s initiative, expressing gratitude for addressing the concerns of Spanish investors. He reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the issues and e
mphasized the Cambodian government’s dedication to creating a more conducive investment environment.
Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister shared with the Spanish ambassador details of the CDC’s successful investment roadshow to Spain, which took place in June 2024. This roadshow was aimed at promoting Cambodia as an attractive investment destination and strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
