South Exit of the East Entrance of the Angkor Wat Temple Temporarily Closed

The APSARA National Authority (ANA) has announced temporary closure of the South exit of the east entrance of the Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province from Oct. 11 to 16.

The suspension is due to the ongoing repair of the drainage system to ensure safety for visitors.

According to the authority’s notification, visitors can enter Angkor Wat Temple through alternate arrangements with the authority.

The announcement also sought cooperation from the ministries, national and international institutions, tour operators, local and foreign tourists, and the general public.

Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II (1112-1152 AD), Angkor Wat Temple is one of the largest religious monuments in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the most visited complex at Angkor Archeological Park of Cambodia’s Siem Reap province.
