Singapore reported 8,164 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 1,085,094.
Of the new cases, 882 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 7,282 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the country’s Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 856 were local transmissions and 26 were imported cases.
Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 7,153 local transmissions and 129 imported cases.
A total of 728 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 25 cases in intensive care units.
Four more patients have died from complications due to COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 1,258, the ministry said
