Singapore Reports 15,851 New COVID-19 Cases

Singapore reported 15,851 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 964,329.

Of the new cases, 1,935 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 13,916 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 1,900 were local transmissions and 35 were imported cases.

Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 13,786 local transmissions and 130 imported cases.

A total of 1,311 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 40 cases in intensive care units.

Six more patients have died from complications, due to the COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 1,159, the ministry said.
