Singapore Prime Minister to Visit Cambodia This Year Amid Diplomatic Milestone


Phnom Penh: Prime Minister of Singapore H.E. Lawrence Wong is scheduled to pay an official visit to Cambodia this year when the two countries mark the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. The information was made known during a meeting here on April 8 between H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Ms. Teo Lay Cheng, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cambodia.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both sides emphasized the significance of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and discussed joint activities to commemorate this significant milestone. In particular, they exchanged views on arranging the official visit of H.E. Lawrence Wong to Cambodia, which will be a historic milestone during this commemorative year.



H.E. Prak Sokhonn and H.E. Ambassador Teo expressed their satisfaction with the progress of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and human capital development. H.E. Deputy Prime Minister thanked the envoy for her contribution to strengthening friendship and bilateral ties between the two nations.



Cambodia and Singapore established their diplomatic relations on Sept. 15, 1965.
