Siem Reap: The Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cambodia, relevant ministries and institutions, and private sector will organise the “Cambodia-China Travel Fair” in Siem Reap province from Dec. 6-8, 2024. The event is part of the campaigns of “Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024,” and “Visit Siem Reap 2024,” said the Ministry of Tourism in a recent announcement.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, some 50 Chinese buyers, 50 Chinese sellers, 100 Cambodian sellers as well as 50 Cambodian and Chinese media institutions are expected to join the Cambodia-China Travel Fair. The three-day Travel Fair will feature key activities such as a Cambodia tourism promotion seminar, business matching, pre-tours and post-tours, and other related programmes.
Cambodia and China have jointly organised many events to promote their tourism industry, especially to boost Chinese tourists’ flow to Cambodia, as well as to attract more Chinese investors to inve
st in Cambodia’s tourism sector. In the first half of this year, Cambodia welcomed 3.16 million foreign tourists, up 22.7 percent from 2.57 million recorded in the same period in 2023, of them 389,360 were Chinese tourists, up 45.2 percent.
