The Ministry of Tourism will organise the Cambodia-China Tourism Forum 2024 in Siem Reap province on Sept. 19 to boost the tourism sector between both countries.
Themed “Revitalisation of the Chinese Tourism Market to Cambodia: Challenges, Perspectives and Recommendations,” the forthcoming forum aims to promote tourism and cultural exchange, especially to enhance cooperation between Cambodia and China, boost tourists’ flow and attract more Chinese investors to invest in Cambodia’s tourism sector in accordance with the “BUILD + 3Ds” strategic initiative of the Ministry of Tourism as well as contribute to the promotion of the “2024 Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year” and “Visit Siem Reap 2024”, announced the ministry.
At the same time, the source continued, this forum will also provide an opportunity for tourism experts, private sectors, and related stakeholders from the two countries to discuss network, exchange ideas and experiences, and search for joint strategies to contribute to the developm
ent of sustainable and responsible tourism.
In the first half of this year, Cambodia welcomed 3.16 million foreign tourists, up 22.7 percent from 2.57 million recorded in the same period in 2023, of them 389,360 were Chinese tourists, up 45.2 percent.
