H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), has been appointed the Honorary President for Life of the Southeast Asian Games Federation Council (SEAGF Council).

The appointment was made in a recent meeting of the SEAGF Council in Bangkok, Thailand, with the participation of Olympic leaders from regional countries, according to the NOCC.

The title honours H.E. Dr. Thong Khon’s personal sacrifices to the Olympic movement, as well as to the sports in which he has built the Olympic Movement of Cambodia under the cooperation, support, encouragement and attention from the Royal Government of Cambodia to achieve brilliant achievements as the host of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 and many other major sporting events.

The NOCC president has so far received many honorary awards from the Asian and International Olympic Movement, especially the highest award “Gold Necklace” or OCA Merit Award from the Olympic Council of Asia.
