PHNOM PENH: Senior officials in Cambodia, including the National Assembly president and the president of the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and Development, held separate meetings with H.E. Ms. Zhang Dongmei, Vice President of the All-China Women’s Federation, to discuss strategies for enhancing cooperation on promoting women’s rights and gender equality.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting between H.E. Ms. Zhang Dongmei and Cambodia’s National Assembly President Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary centered on shared priorities concerning the promotion of women’s rights. Both parties acknowledged the importance of legislative work and representation in integrating gender equality into public policy. President Khuon Sudary praised the visit, emphasizing its potential to strengthen partnerships aimed at supporting gender equality initiatives.
In a subsequent meeting with Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, President of the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and De
velopment, discussions highlighted the essential role women’s associations play in social and humanitarian efforts. H.E. Ms. Zhang Dongmei commended the association’s efforts in overcoming barriers to women’s equality and introduced a new development project by her federation aimed at supporting children and female adolescents, suggesting this as an area for further cooperation between Cambodia and China.
Samdech Men Sam An expressed gratitude for the visit and voiced strong support for expanded collaboration between the two nations, aiming to broaden the scope of their work in promoting gender equality and supporting women’s rights.
