SIEM REAP: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, engaged in significant diplomatic discussions this morning with deputy foreign ministers from Japan and Norway. These meetings took place on the sidelines of the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World in Siem Reap province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Prime Minister Hun Manet met with H.E. Ms. ERI Arfiya, the Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. During their discussion, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the strong relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan, which have developed into a comprehensive strategic partnership. They pledged to elevate this partnership to even greater heights in the future. The conversation also covered the potential for strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including the economy and trade, education, communication and infrastructure, security, and mine action.

Manet received H.E. Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway. During their exchange, Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed Norway’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Cambodia, particularly in the areas of investment and trade. Deputy Minister Kravik acknowledged Cambodia’s impressive achievements in development and mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance, noting that Cambodia’s experiences serve as valuable lessons for other nations globally.
Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his appreciation to both Japan and Norway for their continued support in Cambodia’s peacebuilding, reconstruction, and development efforts, especially in mine action and the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. He emphasized the importance of their contributions to Cambodia’s progress and development.
