Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received Mr. Jin Liqun, President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic on Wednesday.
During the courtesy call, H.E. Jin Liqun expressed his pleasure that AIIB had contributed to the development of infrastructure in Cambodia.
The AIIB president recalled that Cambodia is one of countries that contributed to the establishment of the AIIB nine years ago. This underscores Cambodia’s excellent cooperation and significant contribution to the gradual development of AIIB operations.
At the same time, Mr. Jin Liqun also touched on the importance of developing connected infrastructure to promote and ensure national economic growth, especially the improvement of Phnom Penh’s infrastructure to attract tourists and investors.

The Cambodian leader also stressed that the Royal Government of Cambodia has identified five major priorities, one of which is the development of infrastructure which contributes to better socio-economic development and in line with what Cambodia needs.
