Phnom Penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia and Vice President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), has mentioned that promoting religious harmony is the DNA of his political party which has ensured peace and harmony in the entire Cambodian society for more than 26 years.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, while presiding over the opening ceremony of the first ever Islamic Summit in Cambodia, organised by the Muslim World League under the theme ‘Islam and Buddhism’ in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said CPP which has been guiding Cambodia until now always adheres to this principle to ensure peace and harmony for the citizens.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister expressed his great pride that the Muslim World League has recognised the solidarity, tolerance and non-extremism, and the racial and religious harmony in the Kingdom of Cambodia, which Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, has worked hard to build and maintain with utmost care, because these factors are indispensable components of Cambodia’s long-term peace and stability.

‘I have recently mentioned, as a historical fact, promoting religious harmony is the DNA of the Cambodian People’s Party. We always stick to this principle. As I am, the successor leader, I would like to assure you that we will continue to implement this policy because this is a guarantee of peace and harmony for our entire society,’ he underlined.
