Samdech Techo Hun Sen Welcomes U.S. President’s Move on U.S.-Funded Media Outlets

Phnom Penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, has spoken highly of the decision of U.S. President Donald Trump to slash funding for U.S. media outlets. ‘We should highly appreciate President Donald Trump for his courage to lead the world in combating fake news, starting with news outlets funded by the U.S. government,’ he wrote in a Facebook post this evening.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this is a major contribution to eliminating fake news, disinformation, lies, distortions, incitement, and chaos around the world, coming from the propaganda machine that President Trump has stopped funding, he underlined.

‘As I told the ASEAN-U.S. summit in the presence of President Trump in the Philippines in 2017, the lack of trust in the U.S. by some countries also stems from the U.S. media, which misleads those countries into believing that it is the position of the US government,’ Samdech Techo Hun Sen said.

‘The behaviour and words of a small number of reporters and newscasters on this news network are more arrogant than those of heads of state or government, lacking virtue and ethics,’ he added. ‘Appreciate and thank President Donald Trump.’
