Samdech Techo Hun Sen Affirms Peace as Cambodia’s Development Pillar.

PHNOM PENH: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, underscored that peace remains the cornerstone of Cambodia’s national development and stands as an absolute priority. During a recent meeting with the Heads of Delegation attending the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) in Phnom Penh, Hun Sen emphasized how Cambodia’s historical context of conflict has shaped its unwavering commitment to peace, which now serves as a guiding principle for national progress.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the visit, international delegates praised Cambodia’s significant achievements across various sectors, highlighting its transformation from a war-torn nation to one marked by peace and development. The delegates commended the visionary leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen in steering the country towards political stability and growth. They also acknowledged Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s contributions in maintaining long-term peace
and prosperity during the seventh legislative mandate.

The IPTP, a legislative arm of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), was established in 2017 to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among national parliament members on global peace issues. Its membership spans over 100 countries across continents including Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America, with Cambodia’s National Assembly joining the network in 2021.

The ongoing 11th plenary session of the IPTP, which concludes on Monday, aims to introduce the Phnom Penh Declaration. This declaration will adopt the Peace Charter, promoting peace, tolerance, and sustainable development through multilateral dialogue and collaboration.
