Phnom Penh: Royal Railway PLC., part of Royal Group, has announced the successful arrival of 60 brand-new flat wagons from China, which will further strengthen its freight service capabilities.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the wagons arrived on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, and were successfully unloaded on the morning of Monday, Dec. 2, 2024. This milestone marks another significant step forward in Royal Railway’s commitment to providing efficient and reliable rail freight services throughout Cambodia.
These brand-new flat wagons, sourced from a leading Chinese manufacturer, are designed to handle a diverse range of cargo, including containers, heavy machinery, construction materials, and more. Their arrival strengthens Royal Railway’s ability to provide efficient and reliable logistics solutions for businesses across Cambodia and the region.
Before entering service, the wagons will undergo a comprehensive brake test system check to ensure operational safety. Following this quick safety p
rotocol, they will be ready for immediate deployment, seamlessly integrating into Royal Railway’s operations to support industries nationwide.

This delivery marks the beginning of Royal Railway’s ambitious fleet expansion. The 60 wagons arriving on Sunday are part of a larger order of 221 flat wagons. The next batch, comprising 35 wagons, is expected to arrive in 2-3 weeks during December 2024, followed by another shipment of 45 wagons scheduled for January 2025. The remaining wagons will arrive in subsequent months, further strengthening Royal Railway’s capacity to support Cambodia’s grow
ing logistics needs.
