PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has called on state institutions and the public to respond swiftly to fake news targeting the nation. During the 18th National Day Against Human Trafficking, held at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, he emphasized the collective responsibility to safeguard Cambodia’s reputation.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister highlighted that some reports on human trafficking in Cambodia present a distorted view that does not accurately reflect the situation. “Cambodia does not deny the cases of human trafficking, but please also acknowledge the efforts of the Royal Government to take action and prevent human trafficking,” he stated, urging for fair representation in international assessments.
The Premier underscored Cambodia’s challenges and the importance of protecting the nation’s honor. He appealed to both state institutions and citizens to collaborate in upholding Cambodia’s image and to combat misinformation.
“Please fight together against human trafficking and other crimes for the safety of our children, while our country is peaceful and continues to maintain this prosperity,” Samdech Thipadei concluded.
