Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet said the Royal Government is working on US$300 million-worth projects to prevent Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, from flooding.
‘Phnom Penh flood prevention will be the main priority, then we will consider other cities such as Battambang and so on,’ the Premier said at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Water Resource and Meteorology held here this afternoon.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that the said projects have been implementing for a five-year period and focused on how to avoid flood from other regions surrounding the capital and reparation of drainage systems as well as pumping stations.
According to the Phnom Penh Capital Hall, a total of over 924 kilometres long of sewerage network has been constructed in the capital as of 2023.
