PM Lauds the Progress of Digitalisation in Cambodia


Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet expressed here this afternoon his congratulations to the progress of digitalisation in the country.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, addressing the Closing Ceremony of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC)’s meeting to review and assess the five-year (2020-2024) work achievements of digital transformation and set forth new goals for the following years, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that the Royal Government has clear vision and goals to promote digital development, which provides many benefits for the people, especially people connectivity, e-commerce, e-service and so on.



The current growth of digital sector in Cambodia did not happen by chance, but it is an achievement that came about through the clear vision of the Royal Government of Cambodia, he said. At the same time, the Premier called for attention to cyber security as well as to AI.



According to H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of MPTC, Cambodia has successfully prevented 37.6 million times of online hacking, and blocked 18,000 illegal websites.
