PM Encourages AirAsia to Help Promote Cambodia’s Tourism


Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has encouraged AirAsia to collaborate with the Royal Government in promoting the development of Cambodia’s tourism industry. While receiving visiting Mr. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Group (AirAsia) at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated AirAsia on its growth and success in Cambodia and spoke highly of the airline’s contribution to the country’s socio-economic development, particularly in the tourism sector.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Premier also laid stress on the Royal Government’s efforts in implementing necessary mechanisms and measures to support and encourage airlines and travel agencies operating in Cambodia. Mr. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes expressed his delight and pride in AirAsia’s investment in Cambodia, emphasising that the country has great potential for aviation sector investment.



With the construction of three airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Preah Sihanouk, the number of travellers and tourists to Cambodia will continue to grow significantly in the future, said the CEO, reaffirming his company’s commitment to increasing air connectivity to Cambodia to attract more travellers and tourists to the Kingdom.
