Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia has encouraged ABA Bank to explore opportunities to provide financial support for Cambodia’s agro-industrial development, a priority area of the Royal Government. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet made the encouragement while receiving a courtesy call from Mr. Laurent Ferreira, President and CEO of the National Bank of Canada, the parent company of ABA Bank, at the Peace Palace here this afternoon.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Ferreira provided an update on ABA Bank’s business progress and expressed great satisfaction with ABA’s operations in Cambodia. He further affirmed his confidence that ABA Bank will continue playing a vital role in the ongoing development of Cambodia’s banking sector.
In reply, the Cambodian Premier congratulated the ABA Bank on its growth and its recognition as Cambodia’s number one bank. He highly valued the bank’s role and contribution to modernising the country’s banking system, particularly through its user-friendly and secure online banking services.
Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet outlined key policies implemented by the Royal Government to ensure the resilience of Cambodia’s financial sector.
