The three-day holiday of Pchum Ben Festival was wrapped up on Thursday with a record of an estimated 1.8 million domestic and international tourists visiting various destinations across Cambodia.
Battambang province received the highest number of tourists at 215,559, while Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces welcomed 173,000 and 165,595, respectively, a report from the Ministry of Tourism showed on Oct. 4.
Kampong Chhnang and Kampot provinces registered 153,792 and 123,330 visitors, respectively, the report pointed out.
“During the three-day Pchum Ben holiday from Oct. 1 to 3, 2024, there were a total of 1,748,986 national tourists and 37,091 foreign tourists,’ the ministry stated in the report.
During the same period last year, approximately 1.89 million local and international tourists were recorded.
