Organic rice farming gives high returns in Ha Tinh province


Organic rice production is gaining more favour for for their clean products, lower production costs, and contributions to land improvement and enhanced grain value. According to statistics, the yield from organic rice farming hit 6.38 tonnes per hectare, marking a 10% increase in efficiency compared to conventional methods. By employing organic production processes and using biologically-based products, safe rice is produced, leading to a 20% increase in profits for farmers compared to traditional rice cultivation. Ha Tinh province currently have 100 hectares of land growing organic rice entering harvest season. Locals can earn an average profit of 1 million VND (44.66 USD) per “sao” (equivalent of 500 square metres) of organic rice, or about 400,000 VND (15.71 USD) more than traditional non-organic cultivation.
