The National Election Committee of Cambodia (NEC) today rejected the Candlelight Party’s registration for the National Election on July 23 as this political party failed to submit required documents.
The decision was announced by NEC in its news release issued this afternoon following its meeting under the chairmanship of its President H.E. Prach Chan.
The rejection was made because the Candlelight Party did not submit the Prakas on the registration of the political party at the Ministry of Interior, NEC explained.
A total of 20 political parties have registered their parties and candidates with NEC to contest for the upcoming National Election, but only 18 have been approved until May 15, 2023.
Those are the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Cambodian Youth Party (CYP), Khmer United National Party, Dharmacracy Party, Democracy Power Party, Cambodian Nationality Party, Khmer United Party, FUNCINPEC Party, People Purpose Party, Beehive Social Democratic Party, Khmer Conservative Party, Cambodia Indigenous People’s Democracy Party, Khmer Anti-Poverty Party, Khmer Economic Development Party, Khmer Farmers Party, Women’s Party for Women and so on.
