Cambodia has been unanimously elected as a full member of RECEF, the French speaking electoral knowledge network, during its recent conference in Paris, France.
H.E. Dim Sovannarom, a member and chairperson of Press Reaction Team of National Election Committee of Cambodia (NEC) shared the update upon his arrival this week from the meeting.
According to its press release issued yesterday, NEC was fully supported by 22 RECEF members and three partners, including the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), he said.
With Cambodia’s membership, RECEF with 34 members and the economic community of west African states of 15 members will deploy their senior observers for the national election in Cambodia on July 23 this year.
Cambodia, he added, will also benefit from capacity building opportunities, especially women in leadership role, provided by RECEF.
