Phnom Penh: A total of 22,022 new and old drug cases, which is 89.34 percent of the total cases filed, were resolved in 2024. The figures were revealed by H.E. Seng Dina, Spokesperson and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, in a recent press conference.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Seng Dina emphasized that hearings of the cases at all levels across Cambodia strictly adhered to the principle of transparency. The resolution of these cases aimed to strengthen social security, enhance the effectiveness and transparency of Cambodia’s law enforcement, and promote public trust in law-enforcement institutions.
The secretary of state also urged all citizens to avoid drugs and activities that could harm families and society. He encouraged public participation, media involvement, and the cooperation of pertinent institutions to address illicit drug cases and related crimes.
