Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) H.E. Dr. Chea Serey received here on Feb. 29 a delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) led by its Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director Mr. Brian David McFeeters, to exchange views on business ventures and investment potential for large US companies.
The US firms attended the meeting are VISA, Mastercard, Ford and many other companies.
In the meeting, both sides shared views on business progress, challenges and perspectives of the NBC on economic and financial sector development.
The discussion highlighted the growth of the banking and payment system, in which electronic payments have grown rapidly.
The NBC governor briefed her guests on the positive outlook of the Cambodian economy, growth and challenges in the financial sector, as well as the main potential of the Cambodian economy.
She also laid stress on the investment attraction policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the promotion of the use of Riel in economic activ
ities.
H.E. Dr. Chea Serey informed them that the NBC has contributed to improving the transparency of the financial environment and connected payments in the region.
She thanked the US companies for their contribution to the digitalisation of payment system and to the development process of the banking sector, encouraging them to invest more in Cambodia thanks to her potential, including manufacturing, tourism, agriculture and finance, with high optimism for future economic growth and development.
