Phnom Penh: H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), welcomed a delegation from the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) led by CEO H.E. Ith Vichit at the NBC headquarters.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Ith Vichit presented the CTB’s progress and strategic plans to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential. He emphasized the interconnected nature of the tourism sector, urging collaboration among stakeholders.
H.E. Dr. Chea Serey voiced her support for global promotion of Cambodia’s tourism sector. She emphasized the need for accurate data on international tourists’ spending behaviors to improve marketing strategies and policy development.
Dr. Chea Serey also introduced the Bakong Tourists App as a new product offering convenient payment solutions for travelers. She highlighted the banking sector’s role in tourism development through improved credit access and loan restructuring.
Furthermore, she noted NBC’s contributions to cultural and economic tourism, including the establishment of the Preah Srey I§anavarman Museum (SOSORO) in Phnom Penh, with plans for expansion to Battambang and Kampot.
