More Training on Hospitality Skill Encouraged

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has urged Sala Bai Hotel and Restaurant School to increase its training on hospitality skill for the Cambodian people.

The request was made by the minister, H.E. Heng Sour, when he met here on Feb. 13 with Mr. Renaud Fichet, Director of the Sala Bai Hotel and Restaurant School.

The minister highlighted the importance of hospitality skill as Cambodia is a tourism destination for both the national and international tourists, and the necessity of the school, which has a reputation in this field, to take part in the Royal Government’s effort to conduct vocational training programme for 1.5 million youths from the underprivileged and vulnerable families so that they can have clear professional skills and decent jobs.

H.E. Heng Sour also encouraged Sala Bai Hotel and Restaurant School to upgrade its curriculum to the level of Diploma to meet the needs of skills training of which the market is in need.

Located in Siem Reap, Sala Bai Hotel and Restaurant School was
established in 2002 by Agir Pour le Cambodge, a French NGO. It is a well-known hospitality training school in Cambodia. The school provides free training for young Cambodians from poor families.
