More Than 110,000 Tourists Visited Siem Reap Province Last Weekend


The province of Siem Reap, home to the famous Angkor temples, welcomed 117,677 tourists last weekend, from Jan. 9 to 11, on the occasion of the Chinese-Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration.

The figure was shared by the Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Department in a report released on Feb. 11.

The said number of visitors show an increase of 11.56 percent compared to the same period last year, said the source.

Among the tourists, the report added, there were 18,077 foreign visitors, up 16.77 percent compared to 15,481 in 2023, while the number of national visitors is 99,600, an increase of 10.67 percent.

Chinese Cambodians and Vietnamese Cambodians have been celebrating the Chinese-Vietnamese Lunar New Year from Feb. 9 to 12, 2024.
