Ministry of Women’s Affairs Hosts National Forum on Women in Leadership and Governance 2024.


Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Women’s Affairs organised in Phnom Penh on Dec 4 the National Forum on Women in Leadership and Governance under the theme ‘Women’s Leadership in Local Administration.’

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, it is an annual national event to seek support from relevant institutions and partners in promoting gender equality and empowering and inspiring the network of women leaders and girls to fully participate in leadership at all levels.

The forum’s opening ceremony was graced by Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King.

The 2024 National Forum aims to promote gender equality and enhance women’s participation in leadership and decision-making within local administration. The event featured four key activities: Presentation on National Programme Policy Framework and Overview of Promoting Women’s Leadership at the Local Level; Short Interviews and Discussions: Leadership Experiences in Public Service Delivery and Local Deve
lopment; Intervention and Reflection: Collaboration and Values of Sub-National Women Leadership Promotion; and Commitment of stakeholders and participants in promoting women’s and girls’ leadership in local administration.

The National Forum attracted in total 1,825 participants, including 325 direct participation (230 women) and about 1,500 online participation.
